Effective July 23, 2026
Program description
ThisLife Counseling, LLC uses conversational SMS and MMS messaging to communicate with current and prospective clients who contact the practice or request text communication. Messages may include general information about the practice and services, responses to appointment inquiries, scheduling and rescheduling assistance, appointment confirmations and reminders, office directions, telehealth access information, forms or administrative links, billing-related administrative notices, and other non-marketing communications related to counseling services.
Text messaging is not used for unsolicited marketing, crisis counseling, or emergency response.
How consent is provided
You may consent to text messaging by:
- Initiating a text conversation with our published practice number, 706-383-7290;
- Asking a ThisLife Counseling staff member or clinician to communicate with you by text; or
- Providing your mobile number during an inquiry, intake, or scheduling process and expressly agreeing to receive administrative text messages.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing or receiving counseling services.
You may also review the full disclosure and opt in by texting START from our Text Message Opt-In page.
Message frequency and charges
Message frequency varies based on your inquiries, appointment activity, and ongoing communication with the practice. Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless plan. ThisLife Counseling does not charge a separate fee for text messages.
Opting out and requesting help
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. After opting out, you may receive one confirmation message and will receive no further texts unless you later provide new consent. For assistance, reply HELP, call or text 706-383-7290, or email appointments@thislifecounseling.com.
Messaging procedures and privacy
- Staff use text messaging primarily for general information and administrative coordination.
- We may verify identity before discussing account-specific or sensitive information.
- Clients should avoid sending detailed clinical histories, trauma narratives, Social Security numbers, payment-card information, or other information not needed for an administrative request.
- Practice personnel use approved business communication systems and follow role-based access, privacy, and record-retention procedures.
- Opt-out requests are honored, and consent records may be retained as required for compliance and practice operations.
Mobile information and text-messaging consent are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Healthcare and emergency limitations
Text messages may not be reviewed immediately and should not be used for emergencies, crisis counseling, or time-sensitive clinical needs. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For suicide or mental-health crisis support in the United States, call or text 988.
SMS delivery is subject to wireless-network availability and cannot be guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Changes and contact information
